This includes OS component updates, new ZFS spare capabilities, and fixes for upgrade and scheduled task regressions.
- ==**Breaking Changes (updating from 25.10.X):** The REST API is removed in TrueNAS 26. Migrate integrations to the WebSocket API before upgrading.==
- **New Features:**
  - Dedicated spares on pools that use dRAID vdevs.
  - Spare activation for special and dedup vdevs.
- **Improvements:** Linux kernel 6.18.42, OpenZFS 2.4.3, Nvidia driver moved to the 580 LTSB (lower version than BETA.2, supported through August 2028), faster dataset creation with the SMB/Multiprotocol/Apps presets, faster failover.
- **Critical Bug Fixes:** Resolved a cloud backup defect that silently stopped all scheduled tasks, Fibre Channel target mode crashes, a console CLI memory leak causing OOM kills, and Active Directory upgrades requiring a manual rejoin.
